Employee Relations Specialist

General Description:
This position performs a variety of activities in support of the Human Resource department related to employment, hiring, and employee appreciation initiatives. Assists in employee file maintenance as well as other clerical duties. Must be willing to adopt and exhibit the City of Brownwood “I SERVE” Core Values.
Examples of Specific Work Performed:
- Perform all necessary clerical duties related to Human Resources Department
- Assist Director of Human Resources in maintenance and creation of job descriptions
- Type forms, statements, letters, or memos prepared for signatures by the Director of Human Resources
- Will assist in computer maintenance of employee electronic files for payroll as well as record keeping
Physical and Environmental Conditions:
- Ability to sit, stand, and move about an office or building. Employee occasionally lifts materials weighing 20-30 pounds or climb in order to reach cabinets
- Ability to bend and squat in order to file or retrieve information
- May be exposed to electrical, mechanical, or chemical hazards when operating / maintaining office equipment
- Ability to see and handle small objects. Indoors, pleasant; light physical activity
