Finding a Job
Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas is committed to helping the citizens of our 19-county region prepare for, locate, and obtain jobs and careers that suit individual strengths, lifestyles, and goals. Our website and the staff in our centers can provide information to help you find a job. Knowing where to look for a new job is half the battle and we have resources to help you locate a job that will meet your needs.
Getting Your GED
Workforce Solutions partners with Adult Education programs to assist you with classes and resources to obtain your Certificate of High School Equivalency (GED). The Region 14 Education Service Center is the nearest GED Testing Center. Contact our office to find out more about how we may be able to help!
Opportunities & Special Services
Our centers offer a number of training opportunities ranging from on-site workshops and short-term training to on-the-job training. Some of these opportunities have eligibility requirements. Come on in and let us determine how we can best serve you. In addition to these services, Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas also provides special services to specific groups of individuals. Some of these groups include youth, veterans, individuals with disabilities, public assistance recipients, and older workers.
Training & Financial Aid
Workforce Solutions awards financial aid packages to assist eligible job seekers in paying for all or a portion of tuition and training related costs in over 40 different training programs throughout a 19-county region. These awards are available for pre-selected programs that provide job seekers with the skills necessary to gain employment in occupations that have been identified as high demand in our area such as nurses’ aides, truck drivers, welders, HVAC technicians and mechanics, and more!

Career Exploration
Not sure what you want to do? Come to us for help with career exploration. Our staff have access to a number of assessment tools that can help you discover what you would like to do. We can help you learn about jobs with which your skills and natural abilities most closely align. We have done the research for you on a number of careers and can help you discover the pathway to success.
Filing for Unemployment
Although we do not operate the Unemployment Insurance (UI) program, we do have information that can aid individuals who have been laid off (or who have otherwise lost their job through no fault of their own) in filing for unemployment.
Tips & Tools
Tips and tools are also available on such topics as using the WorkInTexas.com website, conducting a job search, resume writing, interviewing, and starting a business. Live workshops covering these and many other work-related topics are available and are free of charge to our customers.
Virtual Orientations & Workshops
We can offer many employment resources online! Whether you need to attend an orientation for SNAP or Re-employment or want to brush up on your skills. We offer a number of videos and online tutorials to meet your needs.
